DGTL Growth Podcast on MedTech UX with Alessandro Fard
Our CEO Alessandro Fard recently joined DGTL Growth Podcast, hosted by Suse Barnes, Founder of DGTL, for a grounded, forward-looking conversation on UX, AI, and building a focused agency in complex, high-stakes environments. DGTL is known for creating space for honest discussions around growth, leadership, and what’s actually working beyond the hype.
One of the core themes of the episode was Create Ape’s evolution from a generalist studio to a MedTech-focused UX partner. Alessandro shared why specialization became essential—working in healthcare means designing for environments where usability, accessibility (ADA), and compliance (HIPAA) are non-negotiable. That focus didn’t narrow our opportunities; it sharpened our thinking, strengthened our process, and allowed Create Ape to deliver clearer outcomes for teams modernizing legacy systems under real-world constraints.
The conversation also went deep on UX in the age of AI. From being discovered through GPT-driven search to navigating the “wild west” of LLMs, hallucinations, inconsistency, and the constant tension between fluff and real value. The takeaway was clear: great AI experiences need guardrails. Especially in healthcare, trust is designed. That means transparency, explainability, and smart human handoffs. AI should support expertise, not replace it.
Finally, Alessandro shared a candid growth story that reflects how we think about partnerships. A dream client initially said no. Instead of walking away, Create Ape doubled down betting on ourselves, building trust, and staying persistent. That “no” eventually became a meaningful retainer. The discussion reinforced why client retention is our north-star metric, why real relationships outperform cold outreach, and what matters most for early-career designers: initiative, soft skills, and momentum.
Huge thanks to DGTL and Suse Barnes for the thoughtful questions and the space to have an honest conversation.
