CuraPatient

Modernizing a government-trusted platform at scale
CuraPatient, a Peter Thiel–funded health-tech company working with local and state governments across the U.S., approached us during a period of rapid growth and expansion. While their mission and technology were strong, their digital ecosystem had become fragmented across multiple sub-brands—including Othena, CuraVet (in partnership with the VA), and several internal web and mobile platforms—due to inconsistent design direction and offshore implementation.
We were brought in as their dedicated UX/UI and product design partner, responsible for unifying their brand presence, redesigning complex healthcare user flows and dashboards, and delivering full in-house–caliber support under one roof. Our scope covered brand modernization, comprehensive design systems, website redesigns for both CuraPatient and Othena, UX/UI optimization across multiple applications, front-end development collaboration, and the creation of presentation decks, brochures, and additional marketing assets.
Our overarching objective was clear: to streamline and professionalize the entire user experience, creating a cohesive and scalable brand and product ecosystem that aligned with CuraPatient’s technological ambitions and the high-stakes environments they served.

A comprehensive UX audit across platforms and sub-brands
We began our work by conducting UX audits and heuristic evaluations of CuraPatient’s existing applications to identify usability gaps, visual inconsistencies, and friction points across the user experience. From there, we expanded our research through detailed user flow mapping for both healthcare providers and patients, along with a competitive analysis of public-health dashboards and related platforms. We also developed a series of style scapes to ensure the visual direction aligned with the needs and expectations of government entities, healthcare professionals, and patient audiences.
This research became the foundation for every design decision we made, ensuring scalability, clarity, and consistency across all platforms and sub-brands.

Building a unified healthtech experience, pixel by pixel
To execute this engagement at scale, we assembled a dedicated multidisciplinary team of designers, developers, and project managers who worked closely with CuraPatient’s internal stakeholders.
Our key initiatives included:
Brand & Visual Identity – We developed new logos, refined their color systems, and created detailed style guides for both CuraPatient and Othena.
UX/UI Optimization & Redesign – We conducted user flow analyses, built site maps, and executed full redesigns for multiple platforms—including the CuraVet web app and a COVID-19 dashboard used by government and healthcare administrators.
Presentation & Marketing Assets – We designed internal presentation decks, digital brochures, and co-branding materials to support their government partnerships and the VA.
Development Collaboration – We supported front-end implementation and provided design QA to ensure UI consistency from concept to production.

A blueprint for scalable healthcare design
Through our partnership with CuraPatient, we transformed their fragmented digital ecosystem into a cohesive, human-centered design framework. We enhanced UX and UI clarity across both web and mobile experiences, unified multiple sub-brands under a consistent visual and interaction language, and strengthened the credibility of their products among government and healthcare partners. Although their operations eventually paused due to funding, the work we produced together remains a strong benchmark for scalable med-tech design systems and agile cross-brand UX integration.
