When these sounds are the sole way your product communicates state or action, you’re introducing friction for users who can’t rely on hearing in that moment. The solution is redundancy: making sure that every auditory cue is paired with a visible, understandable visual alternative. Finally, think about real-time, audio-dependent experiences like webinars, onboarding demos, or voice-based notifications. If there’s no visual transcript, real-time captioning, or at least a synchronized visual companion, then users who can’t access audio in the moment are left behind. A well-marked heading structure, readable copy, and clear navigation ensure that even when a layout breaks or assets don’t load, the experience is still functional. This also means avoiding reliance on JavaScript for basic interactions, or at least ensuring that core tasks (like submitting a form or accessing a menu) work without full dependency on scripts.
